- there are solutions for automatically and directly tagging content with geographic metadata and other solutions for tagging topics, there weren’t any publisher-focused solutions that did both;
- there are solutions that aggregate RSS feeds there aren’t any that allowed editors to directly control which feeds were aggregated (there really aren’t any solutions for aggregating non-RSS content);
- there are content management systems for managing your own content but none for directly managing elements form aggregated content;
- there are solutions that allow you to integrate aggregated content with limited customization through javascript widgets, others that have hosted solutions and others that have APIs but none that have all three;
- there are no solutions that allow for complete white label branding;
- there are no solutions that offer direct paths for monetization.
All of those things seemed pretty important to us. So we built a platform with advanced natural language processing; a control interface to allow editors direct control over feed management for a variety of kinds of content; the ability to edit aggregated content and to present hand selected or automated collections of content on maps or in lists; hosted, custom javascript and/or API integration options; white label integration and off-the-shelf monetization opportunities.
